A Little Late - But Merry Christmas!

So I'm a little behind - I know...what a busy week we have had! When Drew was born I started a new CHRISTmas tradition in our house - we bake a birthday cake for Jesus - I feel like it is a nice way to remember why we are really celebrating! We started Christmas Eve off by doing that and then headed to my Grandma's house to celebrate with my entire family (27 of us where there - and we were missing some)! It was a lot of fun and Drew had a blast playing with all of his cousins!!! Christmas morning greeted us with a super excited toddler and a wheezing baby! So - as soon as we opened presents - I was directed by the nurse on the phone to take my baby to the ER... :( What a way to spend your first Christmas! Luckily - no one was there and we were in and out in about 2 hrs...with the diagnosis of bronchiolitis...poor guy - after our hospital visit we met up with Kevin and Drew at Kevin's parents....then my parents and sister and her family came over....Drew got a Power Wheels Jeep - oh what fun we've had with that! He is hilarious on it! I suppose I've kinda lied about the busy part - I was busy indulging in my latest guilty pleasure - Gossip Girl - we don't get the CW so I had to buy the DVD set - I watched the whole first season already - and I just purchased it on Friday! Don't laugh - it's good!!! Anyway - that's it in a nut shell - check out some pics!

Don't Boys Pump Too???

I was getting ready to pump last night and walked in to this......Drew calls it punking....

I think the picture says it all!

PS - Look how big Colt is getting

We're Rolling!

Well at least Colt is anyway! He woke up crying around 4 a.m. and when I wen to check on him he was on his belly!!! It's the beginning stages of a mobile child!!! Sad...my baby isn't even 4 months yet and he is already growing up to fast!

Grown Up Night!!!

This past weekend we were invited to an oyster roast, Drew and Colt both spent the night with my mom! Which was really nice for Kevin and I. It had been quite sometime since we had an adult night with no kids! You forget how nice it is to just have adult time! Here are a couple of pics from the party....excuse how fat I am...this baby weight is not going away quick enough!
Everything else is going good! I need to upload some new pics of the boys - I'm sure I'll have a bunch in the next couple of weeks....we had Christmas pics taken around Thanksgiving...what a trip that was! I am cheap and didn't purchase enough to get the disk...but we did manage to get a few cute pictures.

Drew and I also filled a stocking for the Salvation Army. We didn't get to do the shoe boxes this year like we usually do - since I was on maternity leave and not getting paid - money was super tight at the time- but we had a little extra this week and I kept seeing the same stocking sitting there - after about a week - I realized it was God telling me that we needed to do this...so on Sunday Drew and I went to Walmart and picked out toys for the 2-3 year old boy we selected. Drew understood that the toys were for the other little boy - but thinks that they are going to play with them together! :) At least he understands sharing!

Well - hopefully we'll have more going on in the near future and some good pics for you!

Happy Turkey Day!

Just wanted to say Happy Turkey Day to everyone! We took the boys for their Christmas pictures yesterday! What an event that was! They had a really cute idea for the pictures - one employee would put on a white glove and a Santa sleeve and shake the child's hand for the picture - It looked really cute - like the kid was meeting Santa -but you couldn't actually see Santa - well let me just start by saying that we bypassed that all together! Drew saw another kid so it - and freaked out and no longer wanted his picture taken! We finally talked him into taking a few - it was the easiest decision making I've ever had when it comes to pictures - I don't think the poor girl got to take more than 40 total! But there were a couple of cute ones - which we purchased!

Anyway - I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and let the holiday season begin!

All I Want For Christmas...

I am so ready for the holidays!!!! I think this Christmas will be so much fun with Drew!!! Today we went to the mall - and Drew suggested that we go talk to Ho Ho....kinda surprised me and my mom - but I'm not one to discourage his suggestions. So we got to Santa's area - and there was only a couple of kids in line - so we got in line...I was waiting for Drew to change his mind...but he didn't....it was our turn....and we walked up to Ho Ho....Drew wouldn't sit with Ho Ho...but...we did talk to him...Drew told him he wants and Escalade (so does Mommy - but I want a real one not that Power Wheels kind!) and some Thomas and Percy toys...After visiting with Ho Ho Drew and Gran Gran had to stop for a funny photo op! And Colt decided that rather than visiting Ho Ho - he would dress up like him! Enjoy!

It's Been a While!

Well - my first week back at work is almost over!!! YIPPEE!!! And I am exhausted! Thankfully Colt is a pretty good sleeper - but I forgot how hectic work weeks are! I get up get Drew to school (luckily we have a couple of weeks before we throw Colt in to that equation), then get to work...but the time I get home...it's not too late, like 5:30 - but everything after that is such a blur! It's like cook dinner, clean up, get everyone ready for bed, exercise (yes - I've started to exercise - as if running after a 2 year old and taking care of the 3 month old isn't exercise enough!) And then suddenly it's 8:00 - and I didn't even do a load of laundry...All I know is that tomorrow I will wake up thinking TGIF! And I will savor every moment of my weekend with my family!

I think I'll start playing the lottery in hopes that I can win lots of money and stay home! Don't laugh - it could happen!

My Last Day!

Well - today is my first official day of maternity leave! SAD! While I really do like my job - I don't want to go back! I would much rather work from home and spend more time with the boys! Colt doesn't officially start daycare until December 1st. Daddy will be home with him next week - and then Nana is going to keep him on her days off...for about a week and a half there will be a day here or there that I'll probably have to take PTO - can't say I'm too sad about that! I'll enjoy the extra time at home! The only good thing about going back to work is that I'll be making money again! Thank goodness the holidays are coming up - I'm gonna need my fill of family time!!!

what's gonna happen to the girls???

I don't know how many of you watch the Girl's Next Door - I must admit - that while not an avid follower I do indulge when I see it on...Well - I just read that Kendra is engaged to a football player...and Holly and Hef split??? What in the world??? What will become of the show???

First of all I'm a little confused about how Kendra got to know someone else well enough to become engaged to him while being one of Hef's girlfriends and living under his roof??? Who knew Hef allowed that?

Second - Holly???? I so thought she and Hef would be 2gether 4 ever! :)

Lastly -what will become of Bridget???

Sorry for the rant - I was just wondering if anyone else heard all of this and wondered what would happen to the show???

Our weekend - minus Halloween

Since Halloween has it's own post - here's the rest of our weekend! Yesterday the boys and I went to my parents house for the day to hang out - and Drew and their cousin Ethan spent the night with Gran Gran and Papa! I wanted to take a pic of all three boys together - the older two weren't having it- so I bribed them with lollipops and got a super cute picture! Check it out!
Daddy, Colt and I went to Nana and Pop's house for Nana's birthday dinner - I didn't take any pics sorry!

Today - we went to the fair with my mom and my aunt Phyllis and my cousin's two little girls, Brooke and Linda...Drew had a blast!!! And Colt - well - he was the perfect little baby and slept the entire time we were there!!!

Trick-Or-Treat

This was our first year officially trick-or-treating!!! And Drew did an amazing job - and might I note that he was the most polite trick-or treater ever!!! He told everyone Happy Halloween and thanks - before telling me that he was ready to go to the next house! :)

First Drew had a party at school - which Colt and I went to - they got to trick-or-treat there - so he did have a little practice before the real thing! ;) Then we went to my mom's office where he also practiced trick-or-treating! Colt - just hung out in his sweet pea costume! They were the cutest!!! Drew & I went trick-or-treating to about 10 houses in our neighborhood while Daddy & Colt handed out candy! Then we ended the night at Nana's house! Here are some pics!

OH - and you will notice Drew with a soda can in his hand in some pics...I don't typically let my child drink soda - but when we got to my mom's office he threw up for no apparent reason - I figured ginger ale eases my tummy - so it might help him too - it seemed to - he perked right up!!! Hey and little caffeine free ginger ale on Halloween never hurt anyone - and he thought he was really cool!

Cake!

So - I'm very envious of those who are able to make a career out of doing something they love and are good at doing...don't get me wrong I enjoy my job and have fun while I am at work - but wouldn't it be great to be able to do something cool and creative that you just love doing? Well I've yet to find anything I'm really GREAT at- I do enjoy baking though! But I'm just not that great at decorating - so I've decided to practice and teach myself! :) Today I decided to try fondant for the first time - I've got a long way to go - but I thought it was pretty good for my first time!!! What do you think?

Happy Halloween

Drew and I decorated our pumpkins today!!! These were so much easier (and neater) than carving! We will be using these for many years to come!

Smile!

I got a pic of the smile- not great quality - but you get it! Is he not the cutest???

GG is OLD!!!

Kevin's grandma is going to be 95 next month! Drew calls her GG for Great Grandma....GG feel down a few years ago and hurt her hip - and now walks with a cane and a limp...so Drew has recently been telling everyone "GG is old - she has to take medicine"...Well - the other day at my mother-in-laws house he was going with Nana to give GG her medicine - so he again announces to everyone that "GG is old - and he has to give her her medicine" and then turns and walks out all the while mimicking GG's limp! Last night we were over there for dinner and GG came too...GG LOVES these little boys and loves to kiss and hug them - for about 15 minutes she begged Drew for a hug and kiss - the rest of us were sitting there encouraging him to hug her and he kept saying "No"...finally I asked him why he didn't want to hug and kiss GG and he said "Because she's too old"....Who knew you could be too old for kisses!!!! See below for GG loving her boys!

Kiddo Updates

So last week while we were in New York Colt really started giving us big smiles! I'm trying to capture a real good one on camera - I've got the camera on stand by in the living room in the event that he throws one out this morning! :)

Yesterday we took Drew to get the flu mist (MUCH better than the shot) and Colt for his 2 month check-up. Colt is weighing in at 10lbs and 6 oz....he's in the 25% for weight (which is where he was at birth) and he is 21 1/2 inches long....in the 5% for height (which is where he was at birth)....so while he is a peanut he's growing at a good rate! If you know Kevin and I you wouldn't think it's unusual for our kids to be tiny - though Drew is right at the 50% for height and weight - well he was back in June anyway! And you think I'm kidding when I say I'm signing them up for jockey school!!! :)

And Dr. Player said that Drew is talking like a 3 year old should! Pretty impressive considering he isn't even 2 1/2 yet!!! He's pretty smart if you ask me - he knows the first name of everyone in our extended family and many of our friends...he can tell you his street and his birth date! Are 2 year olds supposed to know all that???? Okay - I'm done bragging now!

Halloween - I'm waiting for Drew's costume to get here - he is going to be a cowboy...and Colt will be a sweet pea (it was Drew's first Halloween costume too) - so get yourself ready for pics of a super cute cowboy and sweet pea!

We're BACK!

We just got back last night from our trip to NY. We had a good time - but it is is really nice to be back home!!! The drive which normally takes 12 hrs...took us 17 to get there!!! But the boys were amazing!!!! Not a peep out of anyone!!! I know everyone thinks they have the best kids...but I really do! ;) How many 2 year olds and 2 month olds do you know that can behave in a car for that long???

We took Drew to a duck pond that I my mom used to take me to when I was little so that was fun! And we took him over to the beach we used to go to and he collected rocks for everyone! We also had some nice visits with family and friends! My mom took a few pics - so I'll have to steal some of them to post!

Oh and Happy Birthday to Colt - 2 months!!! I can't believe it!!!!

Football and More...

Last night Daddy started teaching Drew how to play football! Naturally they had to wear their jerseys too - Drew also had to sleep in his...and begged to wear it to school this morning- I talked him out of it until I can wash it!!!

Drew also LOVES to hold Colt - he asks to hold him at least 10 times every day! I'm so glad he is loving being a big brother! It makes life so much easier on me!!! Drew really is being sweet - he isn't strangling Colt! Also note that Drew is not wearing any clothes - this is a result of Drew learning how to undress himself and enjoying running around with no clothes on! Oh - to be 2 again! :)

With the cooler weather comes....the COLD

While I really enjoyed the cooler weather today - I am not enjoying the fact that I am coming down with a cold! And I'm pretty sure I can guess who gave it to me - I'm betting it's the curly blond 2 year old that lives with us!!! Just as soon as there is a hint of cool air the day cares suddenly have an increase in the frequency of colds! While Drew and his friends are past the putting everything in their mouths phase - they are way into hugging and kissing - ALL the time!!! So - I figured out that he was coming down with something a yesterday - and now I can feel it hitting me....Just pray that it stops with Drew and I - and Kevin and especially Colt are spared! I can deal with a 2 year old with a cold - but 6 weeks is too young! And at 33 you'd think Kevin was dying when he gets a head cold! :) Sorry if you read this Kev! But it is the truth - I'm sure most wives can relate! Anyway - pray that Drew and I feel better soon and no one else in our household ever feels bad!!!

Beach

Kevin recently took up surfing and every time he leaves the house Drew cries that he wants to go surfing too, so as a special Friday treat we decided to tag along...we brought a few toys to play with in the sand - and we brought along little brother for his first time at the beach! It was pretty uneventful - but a good time was had by all - Daddy even caught a couple of waves!!!

My Boys

So it's been a pretty uneventful week at our house - so far- I hope it stays that way!!! Colt and I are going to have a belated birthday lunch with our friend April today - we are excited to see her because it's been a while!

For those of you who don't know - having kids of the same gender is really nice -much cheaper too! Not that it's something you have a choice over...Colt gets to wear all of Drew's old baby clothes and Drew gets a kick out of knowing that Colt is wearing his clothes...anyway - they have a pair of pajamas or jamas as Drew calls them with a little alien on them and a cute matching hat...here are pics of both boys in the pj's....and a pic of big brother ready for school - but not ready to take pictures!!!

Getting My Hair Did

This is the excitement of my week! Those who know me well, know that I love getting my hair done! However, being on maternity leave means money is tight - and around here you pay an arm and a leg and often have to put your first born down as collateral to get your hair done! (Just kidding - about the first born part - but it is pretty expensive!) So recently - my mom started going to a guy who does her cut, color and highlights for $45 and it looks really good!!! So I decided to try him out today - I'm excited to get something done - it's been a while!

With that said - while I am getting my hair done - Gran Gran is going to have her first adventure watching the boys! This will be a change for her seeing as how she just raised me - one little girl! I hope they behave so that she wants to keep them again!!!

Nothing Much

Nothing too exciting has happened here in our parts the last few days. On Saturday my mom and I took the boys to a birthday part at the Kids Jungle in Jungle Rapids - naturally Colt just slept - but Drew had lots of fun! He was running around like crazy and having such a good time. After the party he decided to spend the night with Gran Gran - so only having one kid at home made it a pretty relaxing evening for me and Kevin!

Today Colt and I ventured downtown to meet my friend Lori for lunch - we went to Courthouse Cafe - which for the record has an amazing grilled cheese! :) Afterwards we went in PPD for a few and Colt got to meet lots of fun people - who I miss seeing - I can't say I miss work - but I do miss some of the friendly faces! Though I'm no where near ready to go back! So we don't have much going on - but I thought I'd post some pics...

Chips for Breakfast?

So - this morning I woke up to Drew trying to open my bedroom door and the sound of a bag crinkling - he tried for about 30 sec, then I hear "Mommy, open you door." I get out of bed and open my door to the sight of my two year old holding a bag of Hint of Lime Tostidos that is almost as big as he is. He has a huge grin across his face and says "I eat chips"...while we all know that he is not supposed to be in the kitchen alone - it was all I could do to hold it in! As always with Drew - I had to laugh...What made him think that chips for breakfast was a good idea - I'm not sure - but it was a funny site to wake up to!

Last night Gran Gran came over and brought Drew a raincoat - he wanted to model it for me - but seeing as how it was bed time - I couldn't get him to put his bubble (pacifier) down....he only uses it at night time - but I can't wait to get rid of it - any ideas are welcome!

Today Colt and I had lunch with Gran Gran - I think it's fun for her and my mother-in-law to be able to bond with him by feeding him - since I am breastfeeding that's a little difficult - so we pumped a bottle for Gran Gran to feed Colt...and lastly - a picture of sweet little Colt! I'm having a lot of fun getting to know this little guy! Now we are off to pick up Drew at daycare!

Blogging

So - apparently everyone has a blog except for me - that's now changing! I am going to give it my best attempt to post all of the little things that happen in our lives - I figure it will be neat to look back at later on. Having a two year old and a newborn it's easy to forget all the little things that go on -and there are lots of little things!!! Hope you enjoy reading about my life as much as I enjoy living it!
